Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?
Mary Oliver (The Summer Day)
Life can be pretty overwhelming. It can be challenging to find the time in our busy schedules to really stop and reflect on how we are going. Whether you are looking for a non-judgemental listening ear or practical solutions to an immediately pressing problem, Leigh will help create a calm and welcoming space in your week that is just for you.
With a long prior work history ranging from primary and high-school tutoring to volunteering with the elderly, Leigh is comfortable collaborating with people at all different ages and stages of their lives. She has a particular interest in self-compassion and mindfulness-based therapies sustained by years of personal contemplative practice. With an approach balancing compassion, curiosity and good humour, Leigh seeks to meet clients exactly where they are in their lives. Her intention is that sessions provide an opportunity for reflection, exploration, and progress towards life goals, whether big or small.
Leigh also has a keen interest in the power of a well-timed cognitive assessment to provide direction and insight for clients struggling with learning difficulties, attention or memory issues. Cognitive assessment can seem like an intimidating process, so Leigh aims to connect with clients in order to support them throughout the experience with a sense of confidence and comfort.
As a provisional psychologist in 2023, Leigh will complete her sixth and final year of training for registration as a Generalist Psychologist with AHPRA. She will be refining her understanding of evidence-based interventions with the support of a supervising Clinical Psychologist.
