Registered Psychologist (MAPS)
Kyra is a registered psychologist and has completed her Master’s in Clinical Psychology. She is passionate about working with children and young adults together with their families to improve mental health outcomes. During her Master’s degree, Kyra trained at Hillcrest Private Hospital, Shepparton Acute Response Team and headspace where she was responsible for the assessment and treatment of mental health conditions. In these roles, Kyra has gained experience working with a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety disorders, disordered eating, sleep disorders, and learning challenges. Kyra also has an interest in assisting clients with relationship concerns, school/workplace issues, carer support and adjustment issues such as moving home, changing jobs and leaving school.
Kyra is skilled in providing brief and long-term evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Play Therapy with children, adolescents and adults. Through her experiences working within public and private hospital settings, Kyra has had the opportunity to conduct group therapy sessions and further expand her knowledge on the effectiveness of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Kyra is also trained in conducting assessments and developing comprehensive assessment reports to assist in the management and support of mental health conditions.
Kyra utilises a client-centred approach and is passionate about providing a safe and nurturing environment for clients to build insight and develop the skills required to achieve their therapeutic goals.
