Josh has been a Registered Psychologist since 2018 and brings to DS Psychology Group an expertise in sleep disorders. He holds a practice certificate in Sleep Psychology and has over 15 years of industry experience as a sleep scientist.
He believes in a collaborative approach to therapy and in matching the style of therapy to each client’s needs. He has a very engaging, warm and professional style and enjoys working with clients across the lifespan. Josh works with older children (10+), teens, adults and older adults and sees clients both individually and as couples.
Josh enjoys working with clients experiencing transitions and adjustments in their lives including changes in workplace, education and relationship status; exploring sexuality and gender identity. He also enjoys helping clients to manage health conditions and working with end of life. Josh worked in public hospitals for over 20 years and this has given him a good understanding of medical conditions and the public health system. He takes pride in helping people to move forward in a meaningful way.
Josh works across a range of presentations outlined below and has particular interests in reducing domestic violence (working with both victims and perpetrators), helping clients to work through trauma and traumatic events, helping high functioning Autistic clients to improve their skills and ability to function in social and educational/workplace environments and working with clients struggling with overuse of digital media.
