Jessica is a registered generalist psychologist. She brings to the DS team a warm, empathic manner to engage clients in a therapeutic relationship. She values practical interventions that can support clients to reach goals in therapy. Jessica has a background in crisis support and community services. She works with adults, parents and families.
Jessica has developed an understanding of clients that experience family conflict, social disadvantage and complex trauma. She provides a calm, safe, focused environment where clients can explore the issues that bring them to the service. Jessica seeks to understand client’s unique circumstances and works collaboratively to provide counselling that best meets their needs. Areas of interest include relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, anger management, behaviour change, parenting stress, postnatal depression, anxiety, depression, trauma and stress.
Jessica can provide thorough cognitive assessments for children for areas of learning and behavioural difficulties.
In counselling she uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Interpersonal therapy
