Jackie is a Registered Psychologist who graduated from Swinburne University with a Master of Psychology (Counselling). Jackie brings with her experience working with a diverse range of clients with presenting issues including anger management, trauma, postnatal anxiety and depression, borderline personalist disorder, self-harm, suicidal ideation, works stress, relationship and parenting challenges, difficulties with life transitions, grief and loss.
Jackie believes strongly in the healing benefits of the therapeutic relationship and the minds ability to recover. Therefore, Jackie is interested in establishing and maintaining a therapeutic alliance with her clients, while utilising IPT, CBT and DBT techniques to assist with managing the presenting issues. Jackie is keen to work with her clients to grow from their difficulties and intrinsic motivations for change in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
Jackie has previously enjoyed a career as a Registered Nurse, working in several large adult Intensive Care Units for over a decade. Working in the public health system for many years has given Jackie the privilege of caring for a diverse range of people during some their most difficult medical challenges including end of life care. This experience also affords Jackie an understanding of the acute and chronic nature of health problems and the complex and integrated parts of self, both physical, mental and spiritual.
