Helen has both qualifications and significant experience across diverse settings and clientele including individuals and groups – adults and children, couples and families. She incorporates discussion and healing activities such as meditation, grounding and mindfulness, emotional work, drawing therapy and more, to support individuals and their families who have experienced trauma and family disconnection, abusive relationships and generational dysfunction. Helen has a special interest in working with people who are recovering from addiction. Helen integrates strategies in a supportive way whilst holding a space for the individual to feel safe and engaged in the process. Cognitive re-structuring and emotional regulation are also specifically tailored and applied. Helen is passionate about working with couples and holding a space for them to explore challenges and learn new ways to listen and communicate effectively. She believes that couples who seek support are more likely to effectively move through challenges and change. Finally, Helen facilitates a series of children’s mindfulness groups in a local school in Melbourne’s East. She currently works with children who are 10+ dealing with family issues, conflict, addiction issues and abuse, anxiety, school refusal, and anger. Helen’s approach is gentle and engaging, so young people have a safe space to talk about their concerns and goals, whilst having an opportunity to express themselves through music, drawing, moving meditations, mindfulness and more. More broadly Helen is a mother, partner, meditator, counsellor and speaker. Her insights are highly regarded and she has been invited to speak at drug and alcohol conferences about the important role Holistic Living and meditation can play in rehabilitation settings and has been invited into Parliament to do a presentation on the current drug issue in our society. Helen is able to bring her holistic, collaborative approach and compassionate, supportive style to anyone who is seeking to improve their emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing and life satisfaction.
‘’I am passionate about working to bring a holistic approach to adults, children, teachers and families. I bring counseling skills, experiential techniques and interventions along with my personal and professional experience as a way of increasing internal peace and wellbeing. I do this by creating a safe space for adults and children. A place where they can support themselves and a place to share, and connect with their inner world, achieve their personal goals and reengage with others.’’
