Claire is a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Registrar who has completed a Master of Clinical Psychology. Claire has experience working in a variety of settings, including rural schools, community based mental health services and in private practice.  In these environments, Claire has assessed, devised and delivered treatment plans for adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns including (though not limited to), anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, sexual abuse, emotion regulation, self-esteem, stress and anger management.  She also conducts cognitive and vocational assessments on children, adolescents, and adults and is proficient in report writing for different purposes.

Claire has an interest in working with clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and assisting with emotional regulation. She also works well with adolescents and adults experiencing grief and loss and helping them find positive coping strategies using a holistic approach.  Claire also brings to DS Psychology Group a background in property law thus has first-hand experience of the stressors and pressures that are faced by individuals in workplace settings and is able to assist clients with practical stress management.

Claire approaches therapy in a warm, empathetic, and compassionate manner.  She treats clients with sensitivity and respect, considering their individual needs, and adapting her approach to best fit the unique characteristics of each client.  Claire uses evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focussed Therapy, Schema Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness and self-compassion-based strategies to work collaboratively with clients to meet their therapeutic goals.
