ALEXANDRA TOWN
Alexandra Town
Registered Psychologist (MAPS)
MProfPsych, BPsych (Hons), BsocSc (Psyc)
Alex is a registered psychologist who completed a Master of Professional Psychology in 2021 and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is passionate about supporting people struggling with mental health concerns to achieve therapeutic change and move towards living the life they choose. Alex has a collaborative, empathic, and compassionate approach and will provide a safe, non-judgemental environment to explore, reflect, learn, and grow.
Alex believes that by developing a better understanding of the way that we think, feel, and behave, we can improve the way we feel about, and connect with ourselves, others, and our environment. Alex will tailor an evidence-based treatment to the needs and goals of each client to help achieve insight in these key areas.
Alex comes to DS Psychology with experience working in the Child Protection sector, particularly with young people living in out-of-home care and residential settings, most often with trauma backgrounds. Alex utilises a client-centred, strength-based, and trauma-informed approach to develop and maintain psychological health and wellbeing.
Additionally, Alex is available to conduct comprehensive cognitive and/or ADHD assessments. Alex provides a safe, comfortable space to help her clients feel informed and supported throughout this process.
