Maree Daly has been a Clinical Psychologist since 2008 and brings to DS Psychology Group a wealth of experience, particularly in the area of aged psychiatry. Maree commenced her career working in the southern Riverina area of NSW where she had significant experience treating families and individuals affected by severe drought, PTSD and trauma reactions and providing crisis intervention. Maree then worked in psychiatric services in both public and private health settings. Her main area of expertise is with adults, including older adults in the assessment and treatment of the range of anxiety and depressive illnesses, sleep disturbance, eating disorders, stress reactions, anger and relationship conflict.
Over recent years, Maree has developed a particular interest in working with mature men and women and older adults who experience difficulties associated with the ageing process, difficulties with this or other transitions and adjustments, pain management, anxiety, identity and other conditions. In this regard Maree’s recent roles have been with The National Aging Research Institute in various research positions and she joins DS Psychology Group to further apply her clinical experience in this area.
As well as her clinical expertise, Maree brings maturity and life experience to developing a strong and collaborative therapeutic relationship with her clients. Treatment is tailored to each client with the goal of maximising quality of life, increasing self-awareness and building on existing skills and strengths.
